Construction on the Jumeirah Beach strip
In addition to the construction of the
world´s hugest manmade island, "THE PALM", http://www.thepalm.co.ae/enter.html
which affects THE RESIDENCE & SPA, THE ARABIAN COURT (less) and THE
PALACE OF ROYAL MIRAGE (little), also other areas in Dubai
are going through an exciting development phase which has received much
international attention and media focus.
The
inland strip that stretches from Le Royal Meridien to the Sheraton Jumeirah
Beach Hotel, including The Ritz Carlton, Oasis Beach Hotel and Hilton Dubai
Jumeirah, will be implemented with the following projects:
Dubai
Marina
Date of completion: 2009
This project, being
developed by Emaar properties, will be “a city in a city” and will
accommodate over 150’000 people. The mini city will be completed over a period
of 10 years. The Marina will cover an area of 24.4 million square feet and will
have a sea-face stretching out up to three kilometers. It will stretch from the
Dubai International Marine Club to the Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Hotel and Sheikh
Zayed Road. Emaar will develop the site, put in place the infrastructures and
construct real estate project over the period. It will spend over 16 billion
dirham for this with constitutes approx 70% of the project. The Marina will have
a mix of low, medium and high-rise buildings. Only 42% of the area will be
available for construction. The rest would comprise open space, water surface,
roadways and public facility activities.

Jumeirah
Beach Residence
Date of completion: 2009
This project will include
shopping malls, restaurants, Cineplex, sports and health clubs, schools, hotels
facilities and offices.
